| Q: | Where are the saddlebags made? |
| A: | Iron Bags are hand-built in a small town just outside Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Our family owned shop has been designing and making these high quality saddlebags for over 20 years. |
| Q: | What kind of hides do you use? |
| A: | Our large bolt-on saddlebags are made of top grain American saddle leather. These hides are vegetable tanned from Hermann Oak Leather, a company that started tanning hides in the 1880's. The vegetable tanning process is more expensive but produces a firmer hide with superior shaping qualities. |
| Q: | Can I put whatever I want on my saddlebags? |
| A: | We offer our saddlebags from plain to totally decked out. The Price List link shows all options available. There are also some photo links from the price list to better describe certain options. |
| Q: | How are the bags different? |
| A: | Max has designed these saddlebags to compliment specific bikes. The bags differ in dimension and shape. |
| Q: | Why is the back of the bag fiberglass? |
| A: | The fiberglass backing gives us the ability to fit the saddlebag snug to the bike chassis. Also, the fiberglass provides strong support and a secure mounting to the bike. The fiberglass back can be seen on the 360 spin images we show on the web site. |
| Q: | Do I need to change my motorcycle to mount your bags? |
| A: | Often the blinkers need to be moved. With most saddlebags you need a low profile exhaust. |
| Q: | How do the bags mount? |
| A: | We include all mounting hardware required along with easy to follow instructions. Usually any problem can be handled with a phone call to Max at our shop. |
| Q: | How long will it take to get my saddlebags? |
| A: | These are custom ordered saddlebags that are made up as they are received. Usually the minimum wait time is about 3 weeks. However, during peak riding season longer delays can be experienced. We strongly encourage you to order early. |
| Q: | Can I order the saddlebags in white leather? |
| A: | Yes, we have a white pair pictured on the Customer Photos and on our custom color page as well. A large variety of colored hides can be special ordered. |
| Q: | Can I order saddlebags in brown? |
| A: | We can custom dye saddlebags in some browns and tans. Here's an example. |
